Violet McKenzie Walkway launch
The new Violet McKenzie Walkway between Birchwood Land and Camdon Place was officially opened on Thursday, June 30, 2011, a sunny, winter day.
People from around Tamahere along with students and teachers from Tamahere School welcomed the walkway with speeches and song, followed by a brisk walk. Even the local livestock joined in. Here’s a pictorial record of the delightful occasion.
