Civil defence training day

If you went to the Tamahere Civil Defence training day on Wednesday, June 4 please tell us how it went.

According to the notice in the St Stephen’s newsletter, 90% of the work Civil Defence does in an emergency is the care of displaced persons. As it points out, that is just what Tamahere people did during the Icepak fire.

The Civil Defence training day was co-ordinated by Bill Radford of the Waikato District Council. What did he advise, who are the CD Tamahere contacts, what are some good things to do to be prepared?

The TVNZ Sunday programme documentary, Answering the call, which screened on May 18, showed what a wonderful job Tamahere people did on April 5.

It can be viewed here on the TVNZ site.
