Christmas is being marked in Tamahere with the St Stephen’s Church Christmas Festival including a special market dedicated to craft and Christmas goods.
A Twilight Fair is being held on Saturday, December 5, from 4pm to 9pm at the usual church venue of the monthly Tamahere Country Market on the corner of Airport Rd and Tamahere Drive (just off State Highway 1).
Stall-holder support for the Twilight Fair is strong, including from craftspeople not usually seen at the regular monthly markets because of pressure on space. (The next monthly Tamahere Market will be on December 19.)
The church’s Christmas Festival from December 4 to 24 is open from 10am to 5pm daily and includes displays in the church and hall, and Christmas-themed crafts for purchase.
It includes choral singing at 11am and 2pm daily by school and adult choirs and singing groups from throughout the Waikato. Money raised from the sales of Christmas crafts, tea, coffee and food will go to the charities Save the Children Fund, Red Cross, Waikato Hospice and Bible Society.
