Planning for the popular Tamahere School Garden Ramble is underway with the event, Wild about Gardens, scheduled for Sunday, November 14.
Gardens featured are promised to inspire and surprise. As well ramblers can enjoy a lunch from The Narrows Landing or a takeaway picnic hamper, purchase plants and seedlings (cash only), and win great prizes and raffles, including a night’s accommodation at The Narrows Landing, a helicopter ride for four from Helicorp or dinner at The Narrows Landing.
Tickets costing $30 are available from Wednesday, September 1.
More gardens to feature are sought and gardeners keen to share their landscaped creations are invited to phone Wendy Bryce on 856 5065. More helpers and organising committee members will also be welcomed.
The sale of plants is also a feature of the event and gardeners are invited to pot up plants they might otherwise be planning to discard to sell on the day. All types of plants find new homes – herbs, grasses, trees, bulbs. If it grows someone will have a spot for it.
The ramble is an important fundraiser for the school and this year money raised will help purchase IT and computer equipment.
