A vintage celebration

Tamahere’s HillTop Wines is celebrating its 2010 vintage in wine, food and song at its Pencarrow Rd vineyard this weekend.

The winery is offering 10 wines from 2007-2010 for tasting along with finger good to match, all to the accompaniment of music – from 3pm to 8pm on Friday (November 5) with the Tim Armstrong Band, and on Saturday (November 6) with Dave Maybee

“If you haven’t been out to our vineyard before now would be a great time as the grape vines are in full flush and looking spectacular,” says Hilltop owner Phil Abel.

“We have a lovely deck where you can sip on your favourite wine or Harrington’s beer and enjoy the music and view of the sun setting over the countryside. The two musicians are fantastic, have a huge repertoire and will do requests.”

Tickets are $10 per person and bookings are advised. Phone Phil Abel on 827 8217 or click here to email him.

Abel suggests visitors may head to Tamahere early and call in at the Endangered art exhibition at nearby Inspirit Gallery. Details here.
