Tamahere School invites families considering enrolling children at the school next year to an Open Morning on Thursday, September 29.
The chance to learn what the school has to offer and walk around the campus will run from 9am to 11.30am, and the next day’s Agricultural Day is another opportunity to see the school in action.
Please let the school know if you plan to attend the Open Morning, for catering purposes.
The school has a zoning policy and those out-of-zone are invited to enter a ballot for which applications close on Tuesday, October 25. The ballot is drawn if there are more applications than places available. Priority is given to siblings of current and former pupils.
The school, which maintains a roll of 400, has places available for out-of-zone enrolments in 2012 at all levels. They are:
- Year 6 – 5 places
- Year 5 – 5 places
- Year 4 – 6 places
- Year 3 – 10 places
- Year 2 – 4 places
- Year 1 / New Entrants turning 5 up to and including 30 April 2012 – 20 places
- Year 0 turning 5 from 1 May 2012 up to and including 31 July 2012 – 10 places
- Year 0 turning 5 from 1 August to 20 December 2012 – 12 places.
Details of the school’s home zone are available here in the school information booklet or from the school office.
Ballot forms are also available from the school office, phone (07)856 9238 or click to email the school.
Another chance to see the school in action will be at its Agricultural Day on Friday, September 30. A record 103 animals have been entered in the competitions and this year the school will celebrate its ‘country school’ status with a week of agricultural and horticultural activities culminating in Ag day.
Class rooms will be open for viewing to share some of the week’s activities, a coffee cart will be on site, parents will be running a barbecue and the Tamahere Playcentre will have a fundraising cake stall.
