Tamahere’s Hilltop Wines is celebrating the release of the year’s wines with food, song and, of course, wine.
On the weekend, November 5 and 6, the Pencarrow Rd winery will be offering a tasting of its entire current range, including its three latest medal winners, all to the tune of musicians Chris Thompson and Ashley Knox.
It’s a chance to see the vineyard in full flush and take a walk to the top of the hill for the marvelous 360 degree views of the Waikato, says Hilltop’s Phil Abel.
“Or just soak up the sunset from our deck,” he says, “and, while in the neighbourhood, take in the latest exhibition, Flower Power, at Inspirit Gallery, which is just a minute away.”
Ex Manfred Mann musician, Chris Thompson, will entertain in the vineyard from 2.30pm to 7.30pm on Saturday and Raglan’s soulful singer Ashley Knox will play at the same time on Sunday. Canapes will be offered to accompany the wine and the Tuatara boutique beer.
Tickets are $10 and can be booked by phoning Phil or Lorraine on 07 827 8217.
