Mainly Music, a creative song and dance activity for pre-schoolers offered by St Stephen’s Church, begins the New Year on Wednesday, February 8.
Each Wednesday morning from 9:30am the hall is filled with creativity and laughter as pre-school children enjoy the music with their parents or primary care givers, says Parish administrator Rose Leppard.
“It’s not just about singing and dancing. Mainly Music encourages children to develop motor skills, language, imagination, and mathematical and pre-reading skills as well as giving them a chance to socialise with others. This all happens in a loving, shared family environment.”
Newcomers are welcome to attend Mainly Music. The half-hour, interactive music session is followed by morning tea for all and play time for the children. Cost is $3 per family per session. For more information phone Dawn on 856 1266 or the church office 856 2937.
St Stephen’s, on the corner of Tamahere Drive and Airport Rd, offers a range of other activities and group get togethers throughout the year for young people and adults. Check them out here on the church website.
