The latest exhibition at Tamahere’s Inspirit Gallery is a series of vibrant, mixed media works by Wellington artist Kylie Law who is reflecting on the importance of celebrating milestones and enjoying the moment.
On until May 27, Law says the work has created a “visual diary of memories of events and times which have allowed me to smile – widely!”
“Celebration gives us all permission to stop and appreciate the moment,” she says. “In many ways celebration is thanksgiving for the soul. I enjoy celebrating life through my art and my work reflects these various milestones.
“My work reflects the love I have for beautiful colours, fabrics and textures. I combine these wonderful ingredients in different measures to create my personal mixed media style. The diversity of materials and techniques I incorporate into my art allows for fabulous outcomes that result in truly original pieces of art.”
In the celebration mode, Inspirit Gallery owner Jenny Scown gives a reminder that Sunday, May 13 is Mothers Day and an opportunity to say thank you and celebrate motherhood.
“We have a wonderful range of beautiful and unique gift ideas for even the most hard to buy for mother,” she says.
