Chef Jo Wells, former owner of Matangi Oaks Cafe, will give a cooking demonstration at St Stephen’s Church’s Taste & See evening on Tuesday, August 21.
Jo will be demonstrating different ways with rice wraps and the healthy dips that go with them.
“A lot of people haven’t tried to make wraps for themselves,” says organiser Rose Leppard, “yet they are easy enough for the lunch box and classy enough for hors d’oeuvres when entertaining.”
The evening begins at 7.30pm on August 21 at St Stephen’s Tamahere Hall, cnr Airport Rd and Tamahere Drive. Bookings can be made by phoning 856 2937.
“This will be a relaxed night, plenty of conversation and of course a lovely supper at the end. We welcome all community members to join us,” Rose says.
The evening is free of charge but a koha or donation will be taken in support of Orphans Aid International.
Rose will be also offering a brief and low key messaage about tasting and seeing from a Christian perspective.
