Work on the Titoki Sands quarry site will stop on Christmas Eve for two weeks.
Site preparation for the 51ha quarry began on Tauwhare Rd in early November with the removal of trees and the start of erosion and sediment control works at the quarry entrance.
After a two week break work will restart on January 7 with operations that month and February including widening of Tauwhare Road and other improvements to the access within the site, the company said in a progress report.
Some temporary traffic management will be in place during the road widening works.
A new freephone number has also been established for all queries or concerns about the Titoki site works. It is 0800 WA 4 SAND or 0800 924 7263.
