The first Tamahere Market of the year is on this Saturday, January 19.
Expect to see new stalls and new faces at the New Year market as a fresh contingent of clever and creative people take advantage of openings left by regular stallholders who are taking a well earned vacation.
The popular market, which has been a launch pad for many an enterprise, routinely has a waiting list of people keen to put their creations, whether craft, art, clothes, food or drink, before marketgoers.
“There will be fresh produce and new products that have been created as everyone else relaxes and finds new inspiration for the year ahead,” says market organiser Jane Manson.
But the mainstay of the market – good coffee and excellent atmosphere – will be there along with all the smells of summer coupled with the aroma of the popular mussel fritters and sizzling sausages, Manson promises.
The Tamahere Market is held in the St Stephen’s Church grounds, corner of Airport Rd and Tamahere Drive, from 8am to 1pm each third Saturday of the month. For more details, including driving directions, click here.
