Plants thrive despite dry

Despite the hot, dry weather, Tamahere nursery plants are doing surprisingly well thanks to the extensions to the shade area made last year.

So, in the positive belief that rain must arrive sometime soon, the monthly working bee on Sunday, March 3 will focus on potting on seedlings for future plantings.

The working bee will be at the community nursery on Devine Rd, from 1.30 to 3.30pm.

There will also be some seed to sow but the main field trip for collecting seed will occur on Sunday, April 7 so mark the date on calendars now.
