Market offers distinctive gifts

October is a good month to start Christmas shopping and what better place to find gifts of distinction than this Saturday’s Tamahere Market.

“Come along and get in before the crowds,” advises market organiser Jane Manson who, each month, lines up the talented people producing arts and crafts, food and beverage.

Hot to trot this month at the market will be gourmet hotdogs, making a return after proving very popular on their first outing in September.

Also in the gourmet section will be buffalo mozzarella from the Clevedon Valley Buffalo Company.

For gardeners, it is time to plant dahlias, and the Dahlia Society will have a stall this month and next to spread its members’ favourite flowers around the countryside.

For those who like to mull over gift ideas Manson suggests marking the December 7, 4-8pm Christmas Twilight Market on the calendar now.

The Tamahere Market is held the third Saturday of each month in the grounds of St Stephen’s Church, corner of Airport Rd and Tamahere Drive. For more detail, including directions click here.
