Bring out your inorganics

The annual, inorganic rubbish collection is on next week taking unwanted household items from appliances to pipes.

Collection in Tamahere will take place on any day between Monday, November 18 and Saturday, November 23.

Collector Metrowaste asks that refuse be put out the weekend before the pick-up begins.

The items to be collected must amount to no more than a pile two metres long by one metre wide and one metre high. It can include furniture, lawnmowers and bikes, televisions, carpet, metal items from renovations such as corrugated iron and pipes up to two metres long, and appliances such as washing machines, stoves, and fridges as long as they can be lifted by two people.

Refuse that is not suitable for the collection includes bagged rubbish, garden waste, bricks and concrete, glass, oil, paint and chemicals, car bodies and engines, timber, batteries and gas cylinders, wire and tyres.

The pick up will occur only once in each road. For any queries phone Metrowaste on 0800 223 243.
