The team of Kristen Clements, Gina Roberts, Lily Cawood, Julia Wyles, Lowri Jones and team captain Georgia King came second overall.

Competition was fierce but the team all rode great tests and gained many top ten placings in classes that were large.

The top placing, reported in Your Cambridge News, was billed as a remarkable achievement for the Tamahere club, which is small compared to the numbers of the competitor’s clubs.

The Tamahere Pony Club meets on Pickering Rd and rides fortnightly on Thursday nights during the daylight saving period. The next rally is on February 27.

Meetings start with horsemanship followed by riding lessons, including flat work, show jumping, cross country and games.

The Tamahere Pony Club is also here on Facebook.
