Gardens wanted for ramble

Tamahere gardeners keen to share their pride and joy are invited to enter their gardens in the St Joseph’s Catholic School Garden Ramble.

The Hamilton school’s fundraising ramble, to be held on Sunday, November 2, already includes one Tamahere garden and organisers are keen for more.

Gardens already in the ramble stretch from Tamahere along the eastern backbone of Hamilton out to Piako Road, said ramble co-ordinator Cherry Dobson.

“So far we have some amazing gardens offered and would very much like to add two more from Tamahere.

“The main requirement is that the garden is interesting and in a tidy condition for the day,” Dobson said.

“Owners are welcome to stay on their properties and give advice to visitors if they wish. Alternatively we can staff these gardens if the owners prefer.”

The school hopes to sell between 250 and 300 tickets for the ramble at $35 a ticket, which includes a packed lunch.
