Tamahere Market organisers are looking ahead – to this Saturday’s monthly market, and to the end-of-year Christmas Festival.
“A new vendor is bringing smoked mussels from Thames to Saturday’s market and we want to put on a good show for them so we are hoping for fine weather,” says market organiser Jane Manson.
Also looking for some fresh muscle is the 27-year-old Tamahere Christmas Festival; so a meeting is planned for Thursday, July 24 to canvas interest.
People keen on crafts, needlework or other ways to be involved in the signature, month-long, fundraising event are invited to the meeting at 7pm in St Stephen’s Church hall.
Anyone interested in contributing but unable to make the meeting can email Bev Greene, firstname.lastname@example.org or St Stephen’s Church at email@example.com or phone the church on 07 856 2937.

Meanwhile, the art and crafts making a return to Saturday’s market include the original and one of a kind Bee Hive art creations, and photography of local and New Zealand-wide scenes by John Fitzgerald.
