Keen on cycleways? Want to see the full 70km of the Te Awa River Ride completed?
The Waipa District Council is currently seeking feedback on its cycleway spending plans, including the Te Awa River Ride, which will go through Tamahere.
The Te Awa Trust has approached the Waipa council seeking support towards the Avantidrome-to-Hamilton section of the River Ride and is encouraging locals to weigh into the discussion.
The council is considering contributing but it is not a high priority, says Jennifer Palmer of the Te Awa Trust.
“But people’s feedback can help change that,” she says.
“We believe there are enormous, long-term and wide-reaching benefits of linking the existing sections of Te Awa in Waipa with Mystery Creek and Hamilton, Horotiu and beyond. Our vision is a 70km path running alongside the Waikato River between Ngaruawahia and Horahora and so far Te Awa has raised and invested more than $8million into these beautiful trails.
“Please let Waipa District Council know what you think.”
Feedback can be sent to firstname.lastname@example.org or by completing the short survey here on the Waipa council site.
