Market in popping form

It may be winter and chilly but the Tamahere Market and its determined stallholders go on in fair weather and foul.
Popping up this Saturday will be a new popcorn van and brightening the market will be cyclamen in cheery colours of pink, red and purple.

If we need help rugging up the market can provide that, too. The winter woollies include Kaimai socks, merino and hand knits for children and beautiful, fine, felt scarves for the stylish.

The market’s range of tasty and warming food never fails to hit the spot, including the famous Mama’s doughnuts.

Hardy gardeners know it’s time to plan and plant for spring and the regular plant stalls will be there, too, offering inspiration and excellent value.

The Tamahere Market is held in the St Stephen’s church grounds, corner of Airport Rd and Tamahere Drive, from 8.30am to 1pm, each third Saturday of the month, year round. For more information click here.
