It’ll back to the 1920s for some “fun raising” next month as the Tamahere Community Centre is transformed into a casino and dance hall courtesy of Tamahere School.
The Saturday, September 5 event with a Roaring 20s theme will have a casino operating from 8pm to 10.30pm followed by dancing to live music.
A ticket at $30 per person covers a glass of champagne, casino chips and supper.
Sam and Tim Trenwith, and James Wilson of Late 80’s Mercedes will provide the music and Good George will pour the ale at a cash bar (no byo). Additional casino chips will be able to be purchased through the night.
The focus of the event, which starts at 7.30pm, is on the community letting its hair down and having some fun rather than fund raising for any particular item, said organiser Carol Coley.
Tickets can be purchased either from the school office or by contacting Carol, email@example.com or 022 601 6675.
