A rich choice awaits those making it along to the monthly gathering at the Tamahere Plant Nursery this Sunday, October 4.
It could be business or pleasure or both. The Devine Rd community nursery will be open from 1pm and seedlings ready to be pricked out into tubes await willing hands.
At 2.30pm there will be an opportunity to see the wonderful gully restoration undertaken by residents of Tamahere Eventide.
There have been further improvements since we visited the site three years ago and if people haven’t been before “prepare to be amazed at what has been achieved,” said organiser Jan Simmons.
People can choose to go from the nursery (or stay and continue potting) or go directly to Tamahere Eventide to be there by 2.30pm for a guided tour.
Parking will be at the Cherry Lane entrance and visitors should meet inside the gate. If wet, the trip will be postponed until the following month.
Anyone who can help at the nursery will be made very welcome.
The Tamahere Community Plant Nursery is adjacent to the Tamahere Community Centre on Devine Rd. More on the nursery here.
