Market keeps summer tastes

The taste treats from Tamahere Market promise to reach a new level this Saturday, March 18.

Top bakers Volare and Pandoro and cafe Momento will be offering their exciting range of breads, slices, brownies, muffins and pastries.

Team up their offerings with Rakaia Salmon or salami and a shot of limoncello on the side and, says market organiser Jane Manson, “you can imagine that it’s still summer!”

Undeniably, the weather has headed into autumn though the forecast for Saturday looks promisingly sunny.

But the turn of the season does mean its time to plant shrubs and trees, many of which can be found at the market, including trees for topiary or for stunning colour, Japanese Maples.

The Tamahere Market is held in the St Stephen’s Church grounds, corner of Airport Rd, and Tamahere Drive, from 8.30am to 1pm. It is held the third Saturday of every month. For more detail see here.
