School warriors clean up
Tamahere School’s eco warriors have been waging war against rubbish around the school block.
Recently, the dynamic group set off along Wiremu Tamihana Drive with their wheelie bins to carry out the term’s block clean up. Their efforts were well rewarded.
They filled a large bin with recyclable items such as glass and plastic bottles.
Another two bins were filled with waste, which included four bundles of newspaper circulars that hadn’t been delivered and part of an old chimney.

The haul was an indictment of casual litterers and fly tippers.
The group’s message: “We encourage everyone to do their part to help keep our community clean and litter free. Together we plan to make a difference.”
