Tamahere Community Centre Committee will hold its annual meeting on Thursday, October 19, 7.30pm at the Devine Rd centre.
The centre is a community building on community land and governed by a committee of local volunteers whose aim is to ensure the centre gets maximum community use.
“We are in need of new members due to current members retiring and this is a great opportunity to become involved in your local community,” said committee secretary Paula Dunton.
Contact Paula for more information on 0274-389-970.
As well as overseeing its use, the committee also works to develop more facilities and features at the centre and to ensure they are well maintained for future generations to enjoy.
The centre was opened on August 20, 2006 and is a modern, state-of-the-art, flexible-use community centre.
Typical uses of the centre include large and small social functions, indoor sports and recreation including bowling, indoor soccer, school activities, school assemblies, dances, parties, weddings, social events, meetings and community events such as balls, fairs and expos.
