Tag IT Technologies’ HALO wi-fi system allows farmers to monitor and control their farm effluent systems remotely.

HALO can also be used to monitor water meters, tank levels, milking systems and milk vats.

The award winners were announced in Hamilton recently with Foster Construction, which built the Claudelands Event Centre, the Centre Place Redevelopment and Kmart Te Rapa, taking the supreme award.

Taking out the innovation award was a highlight for Gibbs, who co-founded Tag IT in 2002.

“We are a small business engaged with many involved and challenging projects, never an easy place to work,” said Gibbs who is now the firm’s Technical Development Manager.

The company focuses on innovative electronic solutions for rural customers.

By combining effluent pump technology and electronic automation TAG IT has dramatically improved the way dairy farmers can manage their farm effluent.

“Our HALO Farm Systems is a range of electronic hardware and software products which all report to the internet cloud, are very good at giving instant performance feedback and providing up-to-date management information and data analytics,” Gibbs said.

“We could not be successful without collaboration,” he said, acknowledging the contribution of technology partner, Reid and Harrison, Yardmaster Pumps.
