Inorganic rubbish collection on

May 18th, 2018 | By | Category: Latest News, Local Events

The annual inorganic rubbish collection is on in Tamahere in the last week of May.

Keep it tidy and to the approved list.

All households which get stickered rubbish bags collected weekly are eligible for the inorganic collection but before dropping your pile at your gate it pays to check the detail.

Size matters. The pile must be less than two metres long, no more than one metre wide and one metre high.

Anything over this amount will be left behind and it is then the owner’s responsibility to remove the remainder.

In Tamahere, the collection will be done from Monday, May 28 to Friday, June 1. Rubbish should be kerbside from May 27.

Items that will be taken are furniture – chairs, tables, and cabinets; lawnmowers and bikes; carpet; metal items from household renovations – corrugated iron, pipes up to two metres long; appliances such as washing machines and stoves but not fridges, freezers or televisions.

Other items that will not be taken include bagged rubbish; glass windows and windscreens; garden waste – tree trimmings and soil; commercial and farm waste; bricks and broken concrete; oil, paint and chemicals; Fibrolite or asbestos; car bodies or car engines; builder’s waste; household renovation materials, e.g. timber; batteries and gas cylinders/gas bottles; wire of any description; tyres.

For more information and collection dates for other areas check here on the Waikato District Council website.
