Putting community centre stage

The Tamahere Community Centre annual meeting (AGM) is on 7.30pm, Thursday, October 31.

Now is the time to consider getting involved in the community and lending a hand with this valuable community facility.

New committee members are welcome to join the committee.

The centre is a community building on community land and governed by a committee of local volunteers whose aim is to ensure the centre gets maximum community use.

The AGM is being held Thursday, October 31 at 7:30pm in the Tamahere Community Centre, Devine Rd.

As well as overseeing its use, the committee also works to develop more facilities and features at the centre and to ensure they are well maintained for future generations to enjoy.

The centre was opened on August 20, 2006 and is a modern, state-of-the-art, flexible-use community centre.

Typical uses of the centre include large and small social functions, indoor sports and recreation including bowling, indoor soccer, school activities, school assemblies, dances, parties, weddings, social events, meetings and community events such as balls, fairs and expos.
