Tamahere Park should have a cheery showing of daffodils this spring after a community planting effort today.
A group of locals and Tamahere School pupils turned out to plant 1500 daffodil bulbs along the park’s southern boundary.
Tamahere Community Committee chair Sue Robertson, who was among the volunteers, said the Waikato District Council had provided the bulbs.
“Ideally we will add to them each year,” she said.
The daffodils should be raising their heads from late July.
