Centre agm on December 9

The annual meeting of the Tamahere Community Centre committee is now on Thursday, December 9 at 7pm.

The meeting, postponed from October by Covid-19 restrictions, will also be a chance for locals to see the refurbished Devine Rd hall.

The committee would appreciate as many people as possible attending the annual meeting, said member Graham McAdam.

“You do not need to be on the committee or have intentions of going on. It is a great opportunity to hear how the year has gone and intentions for the future.

“We look forward to seeing you there.”

Over the last year around $250,000 worth of maintenance has been carried out on the Devine Rd building, including replacing the ceiling tiles in the entrance, meeting rooms and toilet area while the hall tiles have been fixed more firmly in place.

Lighting has been upgraded, security cameras installed, floor areas have been re-carpeted and the lino has been re-coated. The exterior has been painted and barge boards fitted with caps to make them more weather tight.

A new sewage processing system has been installed to bring it up to the standard of the school with which the hall shares a system.
